City picks 'clean' design to mark Beaufort's 300th birthday
From The Beaufort Gazette:
Bluffton artist Kelley Logan Graham got a $1,000 check July 6 for his winning logo that will represent the city of Beaufort throughout 2011 as it celebrates its 300th anniversary. Contest judges selected Graham's design from 27 entries, about a third of which were from Beaufort County, said John Williams, a public relations consultant who has worked with the city on this project. The contest was conducted under the auspices of the city's Tricentennial Committee (not to be confused with the Beaufort Three-Century Project, which is a not city-affiliated.) It's a very clean design," said city councilman Mike McFee, committee chairman. "There's a degree of simplicity that I think will work very well."
