Final B3C forum comes down to one word: preservation
From The Beaufort Gazette:
As the city of Beaufort prepares for its 300th birthday in January, the Beaufort Three-Century Project asked participants at a forum Friday for their vision for the region's next 300 years.
Many of the responses boiled down to preservation -- preservation of the area's waterways, rural and critical lands, religious and spiritual history, the University of South Carolina Beaufort's educational role, and Beaufort's friendly, comfortable atmosphere.
Others asked that the area foster the arts and culture, promote eco-tourism and make downtown Beaufort vibrant with more people living there and diversified stores targeting both tourists and locals.
The conversation came during the project's final forum in its "Ancestors to Future Generations: Look Back, Look Forward Beaufort" series.
