We love everything about Beaufort, after retiring from the Marine Corps back in 1994 we moved to Orcas Island, Washington. We stayed there for 8 mo and decided it was not for us. We came to Beaufort for a visit on July 4th 1995. On July 11th 1995 both my wife and I started working at MCAS Beaufort. We liked what we seen and in Sept of 95 bought a house and have been here ever since. Beaufort is the only place on earth to live. I'm from NY, but I have never thought even once about going back and leaving Beaufort.
